Action for the Needy in Ethiopia / Action for the Needy in Africa (ANE/ANA) is deeply honoured to have received the Award for Best Social Welfare Initiative at the 14th Golden Globe Tigers Awards 2026, held at the Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This recognition is a meaningful moment for ANE/ANA. It acknowledges the organization's years of dedicated work in humanitarian service, social welfare, community development, resilience building, and sustainable transformation. More importantly, it shines a light on the lives, struggles, dignity, and resilience of the vulnerable communities ANE/ANA has been privileged to serve.
For ANE/ANA, this award is not only an institutional achievement. It belongs to the refugees, internally displaced persons, returnees, vulnerable host communities, women, children, persons with disabilities, and other at-risk populations whose courage continues to inspire our mission. It also belongs to the dedicated staff, partners, government counterparts, donors, volunteers, community structures, and frontline teams who continue to stand with communities in times of crisis and recovery.
The Golden Globe Tigers Awards recognize organizations and leaders that demonstrate excellence, innovation, social impact, sustainability, ethical governance, transparency, collaboration, and effective resource mobilization. ANE/ANA's recognition under the Best Social Welfare Initiative category is therefore a strong encouragement to continue placing vulnerable people and communities at the heart of humanitarian and development action.

This recognition comes at an important time as ANE/ANA continues to strengthen its role as a locally rooted and regionally engaged humanitarian and development actor. Through Action for the Needy in Africa, the organization remains committed to advancing community-led solutions, expanding strategic partnerships, and promoting dignity, protection, resilience, and sustainable change across Ethiopia and the wider region.
