ANE in South Sudan
In 2022,In collaboration with IGAD, ANE acted in back to learning campain and livelihood practices. the project targeted the support in area of Education and Livelihoods in the refugee settlement at Gorom in South Sudan and Gambella in Ethiopia respectively.this project has benefited more than 330 direct beneficiaries from education service, and livelihood opportunities in the refugee settings and host communities with the given resources. As part of the livelihood component, the project team organized three months vocational training on crop production at Gambella, Ethiopia for a total of 60 trainees ( 30 trainees from refugee and 30 from host community) and Conducted Back to School campaign on Preventing school Dropout ,Awareness created on school dropout ,Community discussion was conducted on various agenda items, namely benefits of education of children, major reasons for lower enrolment of girls at school, comparative advantages of educated and uneducated children and major reasons for school dropout and ways forward was discussed , A total of 200 influential community members were participated in the awareness raising discussion. Three days training for 30 teachers that selected from 15 refugee and host community schools In the targeted 15 schools peer learning through presentation of 60 model students from different grade was conducted and have made presentation to 3,000 students from the refugees and host communities of Gambella.
